The prongs can be opened by a spring handle and set to a certain diameter by a screw mechanism. The instrument is chrome plated.

The probe tip is a blunt end to avoid damaging tissue. The malleable sterling silver handle allows for the probe to navigate more easily in the anal cavity.

The retractor can then be inserted into the anus and dilated to assist in surgical procedures of the region. The blades and frame can be bought separately or together as the complete set.
